Gotta love CMT and their penchant for replaying awesome older movies. I loved Steel Magnolias the 1st time I saw it. I still love it after 78th time watching it. This movie happens to contain my all time favorite quote. A quote that I remind myself of often and to which I continually strive. A quote that I actually painted on my bedroom wall a long time ago.
I would rather have 30 minutes of wonderful than a lifetime of nothing special

I LOVE THAT MOVIE! I cry everytime Shelby dies even though I know it’s coming. I cry for little Jack Jack *sniff* I cry for M’Lynn even more now that I’m a mom. I love all the sisterhood about that movie (no catty scenes) and my favorite quote would have to be: “Well, you know what they say: if you don’t have anything nice to say about anybody, come sit by me!”
I wish I knew it was on tonight. I’m going to try and find it online. I just watched Dirty Dancing about 17 times last week and drove my kids nuts. I wish they still made movies like that… *sigh* okay I’m done gushing.
Haha, I love that quote too (it’s just not quite as inspirational). Luckily the movie is replayed no less than 47 time a year Kay. 😉
I don’t remember seeing the movie, but would you really have only 30, even most special in the world, minutes than a whole life?? I wouldn’t. The longer the life the bigger the chances of getting this something special, right?
Interesting way of looking at it. I just don’t want to have my life be ‘ordinary’ …. I take it to mean that we should all take chances and go after what we want. Even if it’s scary.
