I can’t remember the rest of it. Kinda think it’s ……. another year wiser. If it is, I would like to dispute that theory. Wanna know why? Well, it’s that time of year again. The time of year when I debate changing the name of my blog from 43 and single to…… *gasp* 45 and single. Crap. You know what happens when you hit 45, right? You get thrown into the next age category on all the surveys. Bleck. You know what else happens? Your health insurance sky rockets and you get thrown in with the old farts as far as invitations to those new Match ‘mixer’ events go. Boo.
So yes, yet another birthday of mine is on Wednesday and as is par for the course, I have not told anyone in my ‘real world’. Not sure why I’m such a dipshit about that, but I am. There is one person that knows, but we’re not going to talk about him. Oh yeah, and my twin sister knows, but as I’m not presently talking to her (nor do I think she’s even noticed), I have no clue what I’ll be doing. There is actually a Match event that evening, but it’s across town and do I really want to go to a potentially horrible awesome singles event an hour away on my birthday? Ugh. Even though it will be my last to be invited to with the ‘young kids’. 😉
I looked back at posts from my birthday last year and guess what? I’m in the same fucking place I was last year! Just replace Webster with TD. Damn it. I swear I’m done pinning my happiness on unworthy people. I was kinda hoping that the birthday fairy would grant me my wish of not being single for this birthday, but the bitch must be on vacation. Or have my wrong address. I also had a fortune cookie about a month ago assure me that I was in for something amazing before my birthday, but that damn cookie lied to me too.
What should I do for my birthday? Should I post another ‘one day only’ picture for you 2 all to see, just for the day, so you can see who I am and what a 45 year old internet dater looks like? I bet some of you think I’m a bit scary and that’s why I seem to have such a challenge but really, I think my personality is worse than my looks. 😉 Plus you all can lie to me for the day and boost my ever waning ego …….

You are one sneaky woman you know that? I can’t believe it’s your birthday again. How fast a year goes by (and I’m saying this in regards to even where I was a year ago and remembering your post last year at this time).
While trying to put a positive spin on things: yes, you may not be where you want to be romantically but there has got to be a couple things you can still look back at and feel good about.
And don’t compare TD to Webster too much. Webster was…well…don’t say something if you can’t say something nice. TD, though clueless and obviously not sure of the type of man he wants to be etc., does still show better character than the big W…and you built a great relationship with those kids.
Now, go ahead and hate on me for being an optimistic POS and trying to find positives. 🙂

I agree with Matthew about Webby. He wasn’t worth the time you gave him. TD was worth SOME of time you gave him at least.They are in different leagues when it comes to worthiness, ya know?
